On the tree between him is carved EHE, his initials, and on the back is an old handwritten note: "I think one of these men is Ed Ely.. Don't know who the other is". There is no photographer ID, but this was from a collection of Colorado estate photos, and I did find a carpenter in named Edward H. Ely in Colorado in a 1900
