These motors have quite a slack oil pump chain even when it is new and the shock loads from on off throttle driving can cause damage to your oil pump. This tensioner helps to keep the chain tight and reduce stress on the oil pump. This kit requires your front timing cover to be removed and will need an M7x1 tap.
